Discover Bathgate
Bathgate is a small town in the county of West Lothian, Scotland. It lies roughly 15 miles west of Edinburgh and 35 miles east of Glasgow. Originally a small village and part of the parish of Torphichen, Bathgate has grown to become an independent town with its own distinct character.
As one of Scotland's oldest settlements, there are plenty of things to explore in Bathgate - from its ancient buildings and churches, to its lively bars and shops. A visit to Almondell & Calderwood Country Park should be high on your list; it is home to three large country parks with plenty for nature-lovers including woodland trails, cycle paths and even an arboretum! Finally don't miss out on The Engine Shed Visitor Centre where you can learn about local industries through interactive exhibitions.
