Visit Midway Atoll


Midway Atoll is a part of the United States Minor Outlying Islands located in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, approximately halfway between Hawaii and Japan. This small coral atoll is home to an abundance of wildlife, such as nearly two million seabirds from over 20 different species and numerous endangered species. It serves as a major nesting ground for millions of birds and so offers great opportunities for bird watching.

The Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge & Memorial is also one of its popular tourist destinations with amazing views and some awesome historical events to explore. The Battle of Midway Monument is another great place to visit where visitors can learn about the famous battle that was fought in 1942 during World War II which turned out victorious for America despite being outnumbered by Japanese forces. An interesting historical fact about this atoll is that it served as an important US airbase back in 1940s when it was used as a communication base between California & Japan due to its strategic location.
