Discover Barrow

Barrow, Alaska is located on the edge of the Arctic Ocean in the far north of the United States. It is one of America's most remote towns, with a population of around 4000 people. Barrow's extreme northern location means that it experiences extended daylight hours during summer when there is an abundance of wildlife and activities to explore.
Visitors to Barrow can experience its unique environment by taking part in whale watching cruises, going ice fishing or reindeer herding with locals, or visiting archeological sites nearby. There are also opportunities for hiking, kayaking and camping around Utqiagvik (formerly known as Barrow). The local museum features artifacts from native cultures as well as displays about polar exploration and traditional life in this remote region. Finally don't miss out on experiencing Barrow's stunning midnight sun - you can view it through long summer days starting mid-May!
