Its capital Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the nation and has an abundance of museums and attractions to explore. Natural wonders abound throughout Arizona's many national parks such as Grand Canyon National Park, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, and Saguaro National Park.

For an unbeatable view of the southwestern landscape, take a drive down historic Route 66 or visit Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. For some urban excitement, visit Flagstaff or Tucson. Both cities offer great restaurants and nightlife as well as cultural events like The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show which is one of the largest gem shows in the country.

One interesting historical fact about Arizona is that it was once part of Mexico until 1854 when it was acquired by the United States through negotiations with Mexico following the Mexican-American War. With so much to see and do in Arizona you won't be disappointed!
