The Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona showcases over 300 aircraft and spacecraft on 80 acres of land. It is one of the largest non-government funded aerospace museums in the United States with a rich collection of military, commercial, civil and experimental aircraft. The museum allows visitors to explore aviation history through interactive displays and walk up tours. One of the highlights includes a B-17 bomber, part of an original squadron that saw action during WW2. Visitors can also admire the SR71 Blackbird that holds numerous world speed records for jet powered aircraft or take a look at Apollo Capsules used for man’s first journey to space. The museum also organizes immersive educational programs as well as exciting events throughout the year.

Plan your visit

  1. Wear comfortable shoes as the museum is large and the exhibits require a lot of walking.
  2. Bring your camera to capture the remarkable aircrafts, artifacts and artwork housed in the museum’s collection.
  3. Take advantage of special events offered by Pima Air & Space Museum such as lectures and workshops held throughout the year.
  4. Check out guest speakers that share their personal stories, experiences or knowledge related to aviation, aerospace engineering and related topics at various times during your visit.
  5. Plan your visit around one of Tucson’s many family-friendly festivals like The Great Tucson Beer Festival or All Souls Procession Weekend for an extra fun experience!
