Big Bear Lake is a picturesque alpine village located in California's San Bernardino Mountains. When visiting Big Bear Lake one must experience a ride up the aerial tramway at Snow Summit where you get 360-degree views of the surrounding area before arriving at 8200ft summit elevation peak. Another must do activity is visit to Big Bear Solar Observatory situated 8456ft up Mount San Gorgonio and observe sunspots with solar telescopes (weather permitting). Finally be sure to explore Castle Rock Trail which follows along an old stagecoach route through meadows filled with wildflowers that lead all the way to stunning lake views near Castle Rock Pinnacle formation at 2200m elevation.
