Point of Interest

The Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco, California, is a popular feature of Golden Gate Park, originally built as part of a sprawling World’s Fair, the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894.

Plan your visit

  1. Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing as the garden can get quite warm.
  2. Be aware of the etiquette when entering the garden, such as taking off your shoes before entering a teahouse or shrine and having respect for its customs.
  3. Plan ahead: research which attractions you would like to visit in advance so that you do not miss out on any important sights or activities within the grounds of the tea garden.
  4. Bring along a camera: capture all your special moments in this beautiful setting with pictures or videos! 5 .Pack snacks and/or beverages, as there are no restaurants located in the Japanese Tea Garden itself.
