Museum < 1 hour

My collection consists of more than 300 items, ranging from orchestrions, coin operated pianos, antique slot machines, and animations, down to small bird boxes. Most of the items are displayed at the Musée Mécanique at Pier 45 in San Francisco, although I keep some of the more fragile and collectible items in my home.

Plan your visit

  1. Bring enough cash to buy tokens - the museum operates entirely on them!
  2. Explore the historic penny arcade machines - some of them are almost 100 years old.
  3. Check out the vintage mechanical musical instruments, such as player pianos, barrel organs and music boxes.
  4. Don’t miss out on The Laffing Sal, an animatronic character from a 1920s amusement park who tells jokes and laughs hysterically when her lever is pulled!
  5. Look out for special events at Musee Mecanique like their monthly Silent Movie Night which features films projected onto a large screen with live accompaniment from one of their vintage mechanical instruments!
