Hike, Park full day

Sequoia National Park is an American national park in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Visalia, California. The park was established on September 25, 1890 to protect 404,064 acres (631 sq mi; 163,519 ha; 1,635 km2)[1] of forested mountainous terrain. Encompassing a vertical relief of nearly 13,000 feet (4,000 m), the park contains the highest point in the contiguous United States, Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet (4,421 m) above sea level. The park is south of, and contiguous with, Kings Canyon National Park; both parks are administered by the National Park Service together as the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. UNESCO designated the areas as Sequoia-Kings Canyon Biosphere Reserve in 1976.

Plan your visit

Planning a visit to Sequoia National Park? Here are some tips and tricks to make the most of your experience: 1. Make sure you are prepared for any weather by bringing plenty of layers and all-weather gear. 2. Bring food, snacks, and plenty of water - there’s no grocery stores in the park! 3. Pack sunscreen and bug spray for protection against sunburns and mosquitoes. 4. Start your journey early to ensure access to trails before they get too crowded or close due to inclement weather conditions. 5. Take time to appreciate the beauty of nature throughout the park - from giant sequoias, breathtaking meadows, rushing rivers cascading down canyons - it will take your breath away! And finally, don’t forget a camera so you can capture these moments for years to come!
