Brooksville, Florida is located in the west-central part of the state. The city has a rich history which dates back to its founding by Richard J. Brooks in 1856. It was originally known as Melendez and later changed to honor its founder, eventually becoming Brooksville. It is home to nearly 8,000 residents and offers a range of activities for visitors.
