Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a zoological theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. Owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks and Resorts division, it is the largest theme park in the world, covering 580 acres (230 ha). The park opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1998, and was the fourth theme park built at the resort. The park is dedicated and themed entirely around the natural environment and animal conservation, a philosophy once pioneered by Walt Disney himself.
Plan your visit
- Get to the park early and be prepared for a full day of activities. The gates usually open at 8 AM, so you can take advantage of the morning hours before the crowds arrive.
- Wear comfortable shoes as you will do a lot of walking while exploring this them park from different attractions, shows and trails around animal habitats.
- Bring plenty of water in order to stay hydrated throughout your visit and take breaks in between attractions and rides when needed for restorative purposes after long lines or climbing stairs.
- Make sure to buy souvenirs throughout your visit at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park which are unique only to this location like exclusive t-shirts or keychains with characters that represent animals within our facility like birds, reptiles, fish and mammals!
- Plan ahead beforehand by researching what attractions you would like to experience during your visit because there is so much variety offered including thrill rides or shows featuring live animals if those interests fit more closely with what you’re looking for during your vacation time here in Lake Buena Vista!
