Park full day

Haleakala National Park is a beautiful destination located on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The vast park covers over 30,000 acres, featuring a volcano and diverse ecosystems. Visitors to this majestic landscape will be amazed by its stunning beauty, with deep valleys and sharp ridges contrasting against expansive fields of wildflowers and lush green vegetation.

One of the biggest draws at Haleakala National Park is the summit of the Haleakala volcano. The summit offers panoramic views across eastern Maui and out to the nearby islands. It’s also an excellent spot for hiking or biking, either during sunrise or sunset for an unforgettable experience in nature. Other things visitors can explore include its numerous trails which wind through thick forests full of birds and other wildlife, as well as various waterfalls that cascade into streams throughout the park’s boundaries.

Plan your visit

When visiting Haleakala National Park, here are some helpful tips and tricks to make the most of your trip:

  1. Get there early! Sunrise is one of the best times to visit due to the stunning views - be sure to dress accordingly.
  2. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as sunscreen and a hat - it can get very hot during peak hours!
  3. Pack comfortable shoes with good traction for hiking around the park’s trails.
  4. Make sure you have a map before heading out - cell phone coverage can be spotty in some areas.
  5. Stop by one of the visitor centers for more information about local wildlife or other park attractions you might want to explore along your journey!
