Moloka'i is an island in Hawaii, part of the United States. It is known as the 'Friendly Isle' because of its relaxed atmosphere and scenic beauty. It has a population of around 7,000 people and covers nearly 260 square miles.

The island offers many amazing sights for visitors to explore. Popular tourist sites include Halawa Valley, with its ancient ruins and terraced gardens, and Kamakou Preserve, a wilderness area full of rare endemic species. Both are great places to hike and take in the beautiful views!

Moloka'i also has a rich history which can be seen in some of its attractions such as Purdy's Natural Macadamia Nut Farm & Visitor Center or Kaunakakai Town on the southern coast where visitors can learn about Hawaiian customs while shopping for local crafts made by Molokai residents.

An interesting historical fact about Moloka'i is that it was home to one of Hawaii's last leper colonies until 1969 when it was shut down due to medical advances in treating Hansen's Disease (Leprosy). Today, Kalaupapa National Historical Park preserves this history so visitors can learn more about this unique part of Hawaii's past.
