Missouri is a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It has borders with eight other states and the Mississippi River has a large presence in Missouri, contributing to its culture and economy. St. Louis is the largest city, while Kansas City is its financial center.

Two must-seen touristy places in Missouri are Branson and St. Louis Arch. Situated on Lake Taneycomo, Branson features entertainment venues, theme parks and shopping centers that attract tourists from all over the country each year. The Gateway Arch in St Louis marks this famous riverfront city as well as being an iconic symbol for Missouri's history and for America's Westward Expansion Movement during the 19th century .

An interesting historical fact about Missouri is that it was part of what was known as "The Louisiana Purchase" back in 1803 where France sold 828 000 Square Miles of its land to President Jefferson for 15 million dollars - what today would be equivalent to around 300 million USD!
