Nebraska is a state located in the Great Plains of the Midwestern United States. It is bordered by South Dakota to the north, Iowa and Missouri to the east, Kansas to the south, and Colorado and Wyoming to the west. The state's name is derived from a Native American word meaning "flat water," referencing its many rivers and streams. Nebraska has something for everyone - from big cities like Omaha and Lincoln to small towns with unique attractions like historic Chimney Rock National Historic Site.

When visiting Nebraska, some popular tourist attractions include Carhenge, an art installation made up of 38 vintage American cars imitating Stonehenge; Scotts Bluff National Monument in Gering; and Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford. Nature lovers can also explore places such as Sand Hills State Recreation Area or Smith Falls State Park for hiking trails or camping spots.

One interesting historical fact about Nebraska is that it was part of two different territories before becoming a state in 1867: Kansas-Nebraska Territory (1854-1861) & Dakota Territory (1861-1867). Today, many visitors come here to explore its diverse history which includes Native American culture as well as pioneers who settled along with transcontinental railroad tracks.
