Hightstown is a small borough located in Mercer County, New Jersey. It was founded in 1778 and covers 1.1 square miles of land within the boundaries of East Windsor Township. Hightstown is known for its history and has numerous historical sites including Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, which documents the lives of African Americans who lived in the area during colonial times. The city also has an active arts scene with galleries, theaters and festivals throughout the year.
