Rockefeller Center, located in the heart of New York City, is a hub of culture, business, and entertainment. This iconic complex, home to various commercial buildings, is known for its unique art deco architecture and its significant contributions to television and radio. It was named after John D. Rockefeller Jr., who leased the space from Columbia University in 1928 and developed it from 1930.

A visit to Rockefeller Center offers a multitude of experiences. An absolute must-see is the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, which provides panoramic views of the city’s skyline. Additionally, the Center is home to the world-famous Radio City Music Hall, where visitors can enjoy spectacular performances. During winter, the Center transforms into a winter wonderland with its massive Christmas tree and ice skating rink, providing a magical experience for all.

Plan your visit

  1. Plan Your Visit: Rockefeller Center is a large complex with many attractions including the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, NBC Studios, Radio City Music Hall, and more. Plan your visit ahead of time to ensure you see everything you want to.

  2. Dress Appropriately: If you’re planning to visit the Top of the Rock, be prepared for the weather. It can be quite windy at the top, so dress in layers or bring a jacket. In winter, the center is home to the famous ice skating rink, so dress warmly.

  3. Book Tickets in Advance: Popular attractions like the Top of the Rock and the NBC Studio Tour can sell out quickly, especially during peak tourist season. To avoid disappointment, book your tickets in advance.

  4. Be Aware of the Crowds: Rockefeller Center is a popular tourist destination and can get very crowded, especially during the holiday season when the Christmas tree is up and the ice rink is open. Be prepared for crowds and possible long waits.

  5. Explore the Surrounding Area: Don’t limit yourself to just the Rockefeller Center. The surrounding area has a lot to offer, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Museum of Modern Art, and Fifth Avenue shopping.
