Trail

The most popular trail in Bryce Canyon National Park, the Navajo Loop Trail takes visitors down the rim from Sunset Point, through the narrow corridors of Wall Street, past the Silent City, past an intersection with Queens Garden Loop Trail, and the top of Peekaboo Loop Trail, before ascending the rim of the amphitheater again at Sunset Point. The trail requires hikers to descend 800 feet down the side of the Bryce rim, and then at the end of the hike to climb right back up that slope.

Plan your visit

  1. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks as there is no water available on the trail.
  2. Wear appropriate shoes for hiking and bring an extra pair of socks in case your feet get wet from creek crossings or other sources of moisture along the trail.
  3. Start your hike early in the morning to avoid crowds and hot temperatures during peak season (summer).
  4. Check the weather forecast before heading out on any hikes so you can plan appropriately for rain or snow conditions if necessary, especially during winter months when temperatures can drop significantly at higher elevations along this trail.
  5. Watch out for wildlife–especially mule deer–which may be found grazing around Navajo Loop Trail’s junction with its connecting trails like Queen’s Garden Trailhead, Peekaboo Loop, Wall Street Trailhead, etc., as well as near bodies of water like Thor’s Hammer which are popular attractions in this area

Great trail for all the family. It could be pretty hot at the bottom but the hike is really worth it.
