Olympic National Park, located in Port Angeles, provides an amazing wilderness experience for visitors. With its diverse mix of ecosystems, outdoor lovers are sure to have a memorable experience. From snow-capped mountains and wildflower-filled meadows to ancient rainforests and rugged Pacific coastline, the park is home to some of the most incredible natural sights in the US. Visitors can admire cascading waterfalls within lush rainforests or explore tide pools along the rocky shoreline while watching marine wildlife. Of course, no visit would be complete without exploring Hurricane Ridge or venturing into one of the park’s many alpine lakes for a quick dip.

Plan your visit

  1. Make sure to bring the proper attire and equipment for hiking, such as sturdy shoes, rain gear, a hat and sunscreen.
  2. Bring plenty of water with you as many of the trails don’t have easy access to potable water sources.
  3. Take a break from your hike and explore one of the park’s more than 600 miles of coastline or meadows full of wildflowers when visiting in late spring or early summer months.
  4. Make sure to be aware and respectful when observing wildlife - keep your distance so you do not disturb them or their habitat!
  5. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures throughout your adventure - capturing these beautiful landscapes will help you remember this trip for years to come!
