Visit Cerro Largo Department


The Cerro Largo Department is located in northeast Uruguay, near the border with Brazil. It's home to many small towns and villages scattered among rolling hills and valleys, making it an ideal place for a peaceful getaway. The department is known for its lovely colonial-style architecture, untouched nature reserves, and vibrant local culture.

One popular tourist destination in Cerro Largo is the Laguna de Los Patos National Park where visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, bird watching and fishing. For those interested in history there are several important historical sites including Fortaleza de Santa Teresa which was built by the Spanish Empire in 1753 as a defensive stronghold against Portuguese incursions.
