Visit Flores Department

The Flores Department of Uruguay is a small but scenic part of the country. It lies in the northwest region and its capital is Trinidad. With beautiful landscapes, rich Flora, and tranquil rivers, it's a great destination for tourists who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

One must-see attraction is Parque Nacional Santa Teresa which includes a beach as well as dense forests. For those interested in historical sites, there's El Fortin de Santa Monica which was originally used for defense against Brazilian attacks during Uruguay's civil wars before becoming an archaeological museum today.

Flores also boasts an interesting history - it was one of nine original departments established in 1830 when Uruguay declared independence from Brazil and Argentina. Today it serves as a reminder of not only its unique past but also its vibrant present as home to some popular festivals such as Carnaval Del Pintado held every November and Fiestas Patrias celebrated in August each year.
