Visit Tafea

The Tafea of Vanuatu is an archipelago made up of five islands: Tanna, Futuna, Aniwa, Erromango and Aneityum. It is part of the nation of Vanuatu and located in the south Pacific ocean. This stunning part of the world is home to a unique culture and rich history.

The landscapes on these islands range from tropical rainforests to white sand beaches. Visitors can explore parts of Mount Yasur volcano on Tanna island, snorkel in crystal blue waters around Aneityum island or visit the colonial ruins at Erromango island.

An interesting fact about this region is that during World War II, American troops built a number of airstrips here which were later used by Japanese forces when they invaded in 1942. Today these airstrips still remain as historical reminders to locals and visitors alike about this historic event.
