Visit Apure


Apure is a state in Venezuela located in the southwest of the country, bordering both Colombia and Brazil. Often called the "land of eternal spring" due to its warm climate and lush vegetation, Apure offers visitors plenty to explore. The historic city of San Fernando de Apure is one of the oldest in Venezuela and home to many colonial-era buildings. Other popular tourist destinations include La Estrella beach, El Mene Ecotourism Park and Lake Valencia with its stunning views and abundant wildlife.

In terms of history, Apure was originally inhabited by indigenous groups such as the Guahibo and Arawak tribes before being colonized by Spain in 1550. It is also known as one of Simon Bolivar's strongholds during his fight for independence against Spanish rule. Today, Apure is an important agricultural region in Venezuela producing sugarcane, corn, coffee beans and other crops while also being a major hub for commercial activity between Venezuela's various states.
