Visit Cojedes

The Cojedes state of Venezuela is a landlocked region located in the northern part of the country, bordered by Lara, Portuguesa and Guarico states. It is known for its colonial heritage, lush landscapes and agricultural production. The region's capital is San Carlos.

The most famous tourist attractions in Cojedes include El Limon Waterfall, where visitors can admire high waterfalls surrounded by lush vegetation and bathe in natural pools; and Valle de las Palmas National Park, where wildlife lovers can observe an abundance of native species such as toucans, parrots and deer while trekking through dense forest.

A historical fact about Cojedes is that it was the base from which Venezuelan General Santiago Marino led his campaign against Spanish forces during Venezuela's War of Independence in 1811. Today a monument stands there in his honor at La Pica del diablo.
