Visit Yaracuy


The Yaracuy is a Venezuelan state, located in the center-north of the country. This region was inhabited by indigenous communities that mixed with Spanish immigrants during colonial times. It has an array of natural wonders and interesting historical sites that make it perfect for travelers looking to explore its culture and beauty.

Two touristy places to visit are Valley Yaruaro, known for its natural beauty and deep blue rivers; and Edward Kennedy Park, which features monuments dedicated to Venezuela's independence heroes from the 19th century.

An interesting historical fact about Yaracuy is that it was one of the areas where Simon Bolivar carried out important battles during his campaign to liberate Venezuela from Spanish rule. Today it is home to many historical landmarks related to this part of history including San Felipe Castle which houses an interactive museum .
