Visit Hà Giang

The Ha Giang Province of Vietnam is located in the far north of the country and borders China. The region is known for its rugged, picturesque beauty, featuring majestic limestone mountains and deep river valleys. It is home to a variety of ethnic minority groups, offering visitors unique cultural experiences.

Popular tourist attractions in Ha Giang include Yen Minh District, with its old wooden stilt houses and rice terraces; Lung Cu Flag Tower, where visitors can get a sweeping view of the rocky landscape; as well as Ban Gioc Waterfall which spans both sides of the Chinese-Vietnamese border.

Historically, Ha Giang was part of Ancient Huangdi's Great Wall during the Qin and Han Dynasties, built to protect from Mongolian invasions that took place between 221-206 BC. Later on it became an important strategic military post for subsequent dynasties protecting against nomadic tribes along Northern Vietnam's border with China until 1945 when it eventually fell under French colonial rule prior to gaining independence after WWII.
