Visit Hậu Giang


Hau Giang is a province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. It borders Cambodia and is known for its rich agricultural land, lush wetlands, and vibrant culture. The area has been home to various cultures for centuries with an array of traditional villages, unique foods, and fascinating local customs to explore.

Two popular tourist sites are the ancient Kinh Thai Temple located in Vi Thanh City as well as My Tho Bird Sanctuary which is a great spot for birding enthusiasts. Additionally the city's old quarter dates back more than 200 years providing visitors with a glimpse into traditional architecture while exploring its markets and small shops.

A notable historical event related to Hau Giang Province was the Battle of Chau Doc in 1885 during which French forces defeated local troops defending Vietnam's sovereignty resulting in colonial rule over Vietnam lasting until 1954.
