Hoa Binh, located in the Northwest of Vietnam, is a province with a rich culture and long history. It is home to some stunning natural landscapes, including vast mountains that run through its borders and shimmering lakes that provide an excellent backdrop for outdoor activities.
A popular tourist destination is Thung Nai Lake, where visitors can take part in boat rides and watch local fishermen at work on traditional sampans. The area also boasts numerous caves which are great for exploration such as Cuc Phuong National Park or Nho Que River Cave.
Hoa Binh has an interesting past; it was once known by the name 'Savage Lands' when under rule of the Tay Son dynasty from 1778-1802 who used it as a base camp during their military operations against the Chinese Qing army. Today this legacy can still be seen in local festivals and special dishes.
