Visit Lào Cai

Lao Cai is a beautiful mountainous province in northern Vietnam, just south of the border to China. It is home to stunning landscapes, from mist-shrouded mountains and winding rivers to terraced rice paddies and lush jungles. The province is home to many minority groups who add a rich cultural diversity to the area.

For tourists looking for adventure, Lao Cai offers plenty of opportunities. One popular spot is Sapa Town, located at an altitude of 1600m above sea level in Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Here you can explore markets filled with colorful clothing and handicrafts produced by local tribespeople or take a trek through the surrounding hillsides. Sa Pa Lake and Fansipan Mountain are also nearby - ideal for hiking or biking excursions!

Those interested in history will also find much to appreciate in Lao Cai - it was once part of the Chinese Empire during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Today visitors can explore ancient fortresses such as Bao Yen Castle which sits atop Thong Nguyen Mountain near Bao Thuong village. No matter what your interests are, there's something for everyone in this beautiful Vietnamese province!
