Long An is a province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, located about 60 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. It is bordered by Cambodia to the west, and Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces to the north and east. The area is a popular tourist destination with its waterways, paddy fields, vibrant markets and cultural attractions such as Tra On Floating Market.

Among many interesting places to visit are Tra Vinh Town - home of ancient Khmer temples - which were built in 1697 - that still stand today; Tan Lap Bird Park where you can observe over 200 species of birds; Kien Tuong Town for a glimpse into rural Vietnamese life; and Chau Doc Border Gate where you can learn more about Vietnam's history with Cambodia. An interesting historical fact about Long An comes from the year 1771 when it was annexed by Nguyen lord Nguyen Phuc Chu who led an army of 700 boats across Rach Goi River marking one of the most important battles during his reign.
