Visit Phú Thọ

Phu Tho is a province in the northern part of Vietnam, near Hanoi. It was separated from Ha Tay Province in 1997 and is now known for its mountainous terrain and rolling hills. Phu Tho has an abundance of beautiful landscapes, stunning views, and lush forests that make it ideal for outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, bird watching and camping. The province also offers many cultural attractions including the historic villages of Chau Son and Viet Yen which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Some popular tourist attractions in Phu Tho include Ba Be National Park where visitors can enjoy swimming at the natural mountain lake or explore nearby caves; Hoa Binh Reservoir with its spectacular landscape; and Vinh Quang Town with its traditional markets full of fresh produce.

An interesting historical fact about Phu Tho is that it served as a battleground during the siege of Hanoi during the First Indochina War (1946-1954). Today you can find remnants from this time period in certain parts of the region such as historical monuments, old buildings, relics from war trenches, bomb shelters etc.
