Visit San Luis

The San Luis province is located in west-central Argentina. It lies in the geographical center of the country, making it a great base for exploring other parts of the country. San Luis has a rich historical tradition, having been part of two governments prior to its current status within Argentina.

San Luis has many tourist attractions, including archaeological sites with colonial ruins and pre-Columbian artifacts. The Museo Regional de Historia Carlos Paz Bullrich is especially interesting for those interested in history. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy visiting Parque El Nihuil, which offers spectacular views of the mountains and lake Nihuil from rocky outcrops and lush forest trails.

In addition to its natural beauty, San Luis also holds unique cultural events such as Carnaval de Villa Mercedes every October where participants dress up in their traditional costumes and perform folk dances in celebration of independence from Spain. An interesting historical fact about this area is that during World War II it was home to 38 Argentine pilots who trained as part of an agreement between Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Juan Peron known as "Pacto del Rio Bosques".
