Visit Ceará

Ceara is a beautiful state in Northeastern Brazil. With its stunning beaches, incredible nightlife and diverse culture, it's no wonder Ceara has become an increasingly popular tourist destination.

Fortaleza is one of the most popular cities to visit in Ceara. Tourists can explore the historic city centre, visit Praia do Futuro beach, or take advantage of the vibrant nightlife near Iracema beach.

Other popular attractions include Jericoacoara which is known for its white-sand beaches and breathtaking sunsets, and Canoa Quebrada which is known for its surreal landscape situated between sand dunes, cliffs and lagoons.

Historically, Ceara was initially colonized by the Portuguese in 1535-1537 with some Indian tribes surviving until 1620. During colonial times, Ceara functioned as a gateway to Africa due to its strategic location on the Brazilian coast; slaves were brought from Angola and Mozambique to work on sugar cane plantations along the coastal regions of Brazil.
