The fortified town of Cordes-sur-Ciel, located in France, is a breathtaking sight to behold. A stunning medieval town surrounded by ancient ramparts, the entire area has been listed as a ‘Grand Site de Midi-Pyrenees’. Visitors can explore the cobbled streets and Renaissance-style buildings whilst taking in views of the countryside below. The main sites to explore are the 12th century Cathedral of St Maurice and its accompanying bell tower, plus several fortifications including La Porte de la Ville on Place Sainte Catherine. Art enthusiasts will also enjoy numerous galleries showcasing local artisans’ works inspired by the beautiful landscape that surrounds this charming village.
