Visit Western

The Western Region of Ghana is a beautiful province situated between the Volta and Tano rivers, nestled between the Central and Volta Regions. It is known for its lush green landscape with rolling hills, thick forests, and waterfalls. This region is also home to many different ethnic groups including the Nzema people, so it's a great place to experience traditional cultures.

Some famous tourist attractions include Kakum National Park, which features a canopy walkway through the forest trees as well as several walking trails; Beyin beach with its pristine white sand shores; and Fort Apollonia in Beyin which was built by British troops in 1764.

An interesting historical fact about this region is that it is where Vlissingen Castle was established back in 1642 by Dutch traders from Zeeland. The castle served as an important trading post until 1872 when it was eventually destroyed by fire.
