Visit Gibraltar

Gibraltar

Gibraltar, an overseas British territory located at the southern tip of Spain, is a unique mix of cultures and history. This tiny peninsula is known for its spectacular views from atop the Rock of Gibraltar, its namesake landmark. The region offers plenty to do for tourists, with many attractions like St Michael's Cave and Apes Den on the rock itself. A trip to Gibraltar wouldn't be complete without exploring Moorish Castle, a fortification dating back to 711 AD when Spain was under Muslim rule.

The bustle of the town below is a great source of entertainment as well. Tourists can explore Main Street lined with street vendors and international restaurants; visit Trafalgar Cemetery or take in some retail therapy at Casemates Square. A visit to one of Gibraltar's two beaches - Western Beach or Catalan Bay - should also be on your itinerary!

Gibraltarians have long been proud protectors of their cultural identity having held sovereignty over their region since 1713 when it was ceded by Spain in the Treaty of Utrecht following a lengthy siege. Today they are committed to building upon this legacy while embracing modern times - making Gibraltar an exciting and unforgettable destination for any tourist!
