Visit Al-Qādisiyyah Governorate


Al-Qadisiyyah Governorate is a governorate located in south-central Iraq and known for its lush vegetation and beautiful landscapes. It is home to a diverse population of Shia Muslims, Sunnis, Christians, Yezidis and others. The provincial capital is Hillah, the birthplace of famous Muslim scholar Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi. The area enjoys hot summers and mild winters with rainfalls that help make it one of the greenest regions in Iraq.

The beautiful city of Karbala is located in Al-Qadisiyah Governorate, which has been drawing pilgrims from around the world for centuries. It's also home to some incredible historical sites like Umm al-Binni Mosque and Imam Husayn Shrine that are must visit attractions. While there you can also pay a visit to Samawah which houses archaeological sites such as Ain Dara Temple that dates back more than 4 millennia ago!

One interesting fact about Al Qadisiyyah governorate is that it was the location where Rashidun Caliphate fought against Sassanid Empire during Battle of al-Qadisiyyah (636 AD), making it an important place in Islamic history known for its decisive victory for Arab Muslims over Persians at that time.
