Palazzo Borromeo is an enchanting architectural marvel located in the picturesque city of Stresa, Italy. This 17th-century palace is situated on the beautiful Isola Bella, one of the Borromean Islands of Lago Maggiore. The palace, with its magnificent Baroque architecture, is a testament to the opulence of the Borromeo family. The palace’s grandeur, combined with the serene beauty of the lake, creates a truly mesmerizing sight.
Visitors to the Palazzo Borromeo can explore the sumptuously decorated rooms, filled with antique furniture, tapestries, and artworks. The palace’s gardens are another highlight, offering stunning views of the lake and featuring a variety of exotic plants and flowers. The white peacocks wandering around add to the magical atmosphere. 1.Plan your visit during the summer months as Stresa is at its most picturesque in the warmer weather. 2.When visiting Palazzo Borromeo be sure to check out the lovely gardens, full of exotic plants and trees that were planted by Charles Albert of Savoy in 1820. 3.Take a guided tour, so you can take advantage of learning more about the history and design elements of this stunning building. 4.Book tickets ahead as there are limited spots available for each time slot due to COVID-19 restrictions on group sizes and number of people per tour guide/group leader . 5.Don’t forget to bring your camera! There are plenty of stunning sights worthy of capture inside this beautiful palace!
