Discover Uwajima

 
Uwajima is a city located in the Ehime Prefecture of Japan, on the island of Shikoku. It has been a major center of commerce and transportation since ancient times, and has a population of over 108,000 people. The city is known for its beautiful shrines and temples, as well as its castle ruins that date back to the 16th century. Uwajima also offers a variety of traditional cultural events throughout the year such as bullfighting (torigi), which takes place in early summer with an audience donned in traditional costumes.

Visitors to Uwajima can experience many things including taking part in one of the festivals such as Toro Nagashi or enjoying some seafood at one the many local restaurants. There are also several historic sites to explore such as Taira Family Mausoleum or Kotsuki Shrine Park while visitors will be able to find plenty to enjoy from shopping at Oyamazumi Shopping Center or Uwa-jima Fish Market. Lastly, visitors can explore Eiganji Temple & Garden for stunning views over Uwa-jima City and countryside beyond it!
