Visit Chiradzulu District

Chiradzulu District is a region in the southern part of Malawi. Located near the border of Mozambique and Zambia, this area is filled with lush green hills and valleys. Popular tourist attractions include the Mchilima Nature Reserve, which offers activities like bird watching and nature hikes, and Lake Chirwa, where visitors can take a boat ride to explore the coves along its shores.

The Chiradzulu District also has an interesting history that dates back centuries. It was once home to one of Malawi's largest kingdoms in precolonial times. Later it became part of Nyasaland until 1964 when the country gained independence from Britain. Today it remains an important cultural center for many local tribes including Ngoni people who are descended from 19th century migrants from South Africa.
