Visit Ntchisi District


Ntchisi District is located in Central Malawi and is known for its stunning mountain ranges, vast tea plantations and lush forests. It covers an area of approximately 1650 km2 and has a population of over 300,000 people. It is the birthplace of Lafiko Cawe, one of the most important historical figures in Malawi's independence movement.

One can explore the rolling hills that surround Ntchisi District by taking a hike through Kasitu Nature Reserve or going to Mwaya Beach where swimming and other water activities are popular among tourists. Additionally, visitors can take cultural tours to learn about the local customs or opt for more adventurous activities like rock climbing at Chimwezo Hill or kayaking down Chilwa River.
