The Upper Barrakka Gardens is a breathtaking public park situated in Valletta, Malta. It’s perched on the highest point of the city walls, offering panoramic views of the Grand Harbour and the old towns of Senglea and Vittoriosa. The gardens date back to 1661, originally serving as a recreational area for the Italian knights of the Order of St. John.

Visitors to the Upper Barrakka Gardens can enjoy a leisurely stroll among the beautifully manicured greenery, dotted with statues, plaques, and a notable neo-classical pavilion. The saluting battery, located beneath the garden, is a must-see. Every day at noon, a cannon is fired from this battery in a tradition dating back to the British period.
