Visit Strășeni District


Straseni District is located in the central region of Moldova and is bordered by five other districts. It has a population of about 73,000 people, with most inhabitants belonging to different ethnic and religious backgrounds. The local economy relies mainly on agriculture, though there are other manufacturing industries as well.

The district offers plenty of unique attractions to explore such as the Memorial Complex "Motherland" which was erected in memory of those who died during World War II and the Cernesti Monastery - a 16th century Orthodox church surrounded by vineyards where visitors can learn about its history and enjoy its peaceful atmosphere. For wine lovers there's also the famous Cricova winery which provides guided tours through their underground cellars where some of Europe's best wines are stored.

One interesting historical fact about Straseni is that it's home to one of Moldova's oldest churches - St Nicholas Church which dates back to 1767. Visitors must see this iconic structure when they visit Straseni as it serves as a reminder of the area's rich cultural heritage.
