Discover Podgorica

Podgorica is the largest city and capital of Montenegro. Set on the banks of two rivers, Moraca and Ribnica, it has a rich history that dates back to being part of the Roman Empire in the 4th century.
Podgorica was heavily bombed during World War II and rebuilt afterwards. The city is known for its beautiful parks, monuments and squares as well as its vibrant nightlife scene. It has grown steadily since the 2000s with modern glass buildings standing amongst traditional red-tiled roofs.
Visitors to Podgorica can experience some of its most iconic sites such as Clock Tower Square (Trg Glavnih Ura), which showcases a clock tower from Ottoman-era days; King Nikola's Palace, an impressive 19th century building; Millennium Bridge (Most Milenijum), one of the largest bridges in Europe; or take a walk along Podgorica River promenade. For nature enthusiasts there are plenty of hiking trails around Lake Skadar National Park or in Durmitor National Park with its spectacular gorges and glacial lakes where activities such as rafting are popular. Podgorca makes for an interesting visit, oozing charm from many eras and having something for everyone!
