It is a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River, named for its distinctive shape. When visiting Horseshoe Bend, one can’t miss the awe-inspiring panoramic views from the overlook, which is accessible by a 1.5-mile round trip hike. The viewing platform offers a spectacular sight of the emerald green river as it curves around the red rock formation. Another must-see is the sunrise or sunset at the Bend, where the play of light and shadows create a mesmerizing and ever-changing landscape.
