1 Telegraph Hill Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94133

Coit Tower is a 210-foot tower in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California, offering panoramic views over the city and the bay. The tower, in the city’s Pioneer Park, was built between 1932 and 1933 using Lillie Hitchcock Coit’s bequest to beautify the city of San Francisco.

Plan your visit

  1. Wear comfortable shoes as the path up to Coit Tower is steep and winding.
  2. Bring warm clothing, especially in the winter months as San Francisco can be windy and cool at night.
  3. Arrive early to avoid long lines and crowds that form during peak hours for better picture opportunities of the stunning views from atop Coit Tower and beat sunset rush hour traffic if planning a trip around sunset time for skyline shots!
  4. Bring a camera or phone with you - there are some great photo spots of surrounding neighborhoods, like North Beach, Russian Hill, Fisherman’s Wharf, among others! 5 Be sure to take some time to explore Pioneer Park at the base of Coit Tower since it has many interesting monuments including one commemorating California’s entry into The Union in 1850
