The city of Andijan in Uzbekistan is a bustling metropolis with a rich history and culture. Located on the Syr Darya River, it was once an important Silk Road trading post. Today it retains its ancient charm, with over 20 monuments and historical sites that attract tourists to explore its history.

For those interested in ancient architecture and architecture, a visit to the Kok Gumbaz Mosque is recommended. Built in 1489 during the rule of Amir Temur, this mosque is an exquisite example of Timurid period Islamic design featuring intricate tile work and stunning domes. Andijon also has many interesting historical facts such as being one of the oldest cities in Central Asia founded by Alexander the Great around 329 B.C., when he conquered Sogdiana now known as modern Uzbekistan. It was also an important political center during Medieval times under the rule of Bukhara Khanate until 1220 A.D before finally becoming part of Russian Empire from 1868 - 1917 A.D
