Built on the remains of a Gallo-Roman site and religious buildings , it has remained Romanesque for the most part with its lantern tower reminiscent of the churches of Lavedan, valley of the Pyrenees.
Since the 12th century, date of its construction, it has undergone additions, repairs or modifications at all times. The eastern facade of the 18th century bears witness to this with its more surprising classical style.
Inside, the remarkable high altar and its baroque canopy harmoniously combine local green and red marble and gilded wood. This real jewel, made on the model of that of Saint Peter's in Rome, constitutes the main decorative element.
