Mesa Verde National Park, located in the city of Cortez, United States, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings. The park, which spans over 52,000 acres, is home to over 600 cliff dwellings and nearly 5,000 archaeological sites, offering a unique glimpse into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who inhabited the region for over 700 years.
Visitors to the park can explore the Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America, and the Spruce Tree House, the third largest dwelling, which features a reconstructed kiva, a ceremonial structure used by the Pueblo people. The park's Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum provides further insights into the history and culture of the Ancestral Pueblo people.
