The Grand Est of France is a region in the north east part of the country, rich in history and culture. With its capital city of Strasbourg and beautiful rolling hills, it's easy to see why this area is so popular among tourists. Additionally, wine enthusiasts should definitely make time for a visit to Alsace; home to some world renowned vineyards and villages with stunning architecture from centuries past.

For those interested in learning more about the region's history, Grand Est has plenty to offer; from visits to ancient ruins like La Petite Pierre Castle or explore Verdun where one of the bloodiest battles during WWI took place. For more contemporary history buffs there is also The Maginot Line which was a vast system of fortifications built before WWII along France's eastern border with Germany.
